New Feature: Payer Management Panel
DocStation now includes a centralized Payer Management panel for managing contracts and fee schedules for the payers you're actively billing — and for viewing EDI capabilities and enrollment status at a glance. Find it under Organization Settings in the left nav.
The panel surfaces a payer for every EDI enrollment you have on file through DocStation's automated enrollment tracking.
Contract Management
Configure multiple contracts per payer with location-specific assignments and priority ordering. Set contract effective dates, reorder priorities, and control which fee schedule applies when multiple contracts exist for the same payer.
Fee Schedule Configuration
Upload fee schedules via CSV or paste data directly into the platform. Define expected reimbursement amounts, charge amounts, and patient copays per CPT/HCPCS code. Create contract-specific fee schedules for different location groups, set up a default fee schedule that applies when no payer-specific contract matches, and download existing schedules for review or modification.
When a BIN claim comes in, DocStation checks active contracts for that location in priority order until a matching code is found. If no match is found, the system falls back to the default fee schedule or reflects the originally billed amount.
Fee Schedule Values on Admin Codes
Fee schedule values now apply to admin codes and every other CPT code on a claim — not just the primary CPT. When a fee schedule is present, it's used for all CPTs. When no fee schedule is available, DocStation falls back to the submitted incentive amount or the DS-defined charge amount from the Add'l CPTs dataset.
Credentialing Tracker
Track credentialing status for each location/payer combination, set expiration dates, and see active, expiring, or expired credentials at a glance.
EDI Capabilities Overview
See which transaction types each payer supports, which clearinghouses are connected, and your active EDI enrollment status across locations — all in one place.
Medicare Advantage Detection in Eligibility Checks
Medicare Advantage coverage detection is now available in in-app eligibility checks — the same capability previously only available in BIN billing workflows. During an eligibility check, DocStation now identifies Medicare Advantage plans and surfaces their details, including member IDs, plan names, and contract numbers.
Local Medicare Carrier Selection
Claims billed with PCN = CMS now automatically select the appropriate local Medicare carrier based on the pharmacy's address rather than the patient's address, improving routing accuracy.
Procedure Modifier Code Mapping
When a dispensing system includes procedure modifier codes in submitted claims, DocStation now automatically maps those modifiers onto the corresponding medical claims. Currently supported for Rx30.
Humana Claims Status Updates
Claims submitted to Humana now receive status updates from status reports. This is a temporary workaround while a clearinghouse issue with Change Healthcare is being addressed.
Ordering and Rendering Provider Filters
Claims can now be filtered by ordering provider contact or NPI. The filter by rendering provider has also been fixed and works correctly.
New Patient Search and Management Interface
A powerful new patient search interface is now available, using the same query builder that's been available for claims. This brings advanced filtering to the full depth of data in your patient profiles — search and segment by virtually any combination of patient data, and save work queues for recurring workflows.
Claim Auto-Summary for Needy Claims
AI-powered summaries now automatically appear when opening claims in states requiring attention — zero-paid, invalid, rejected, or denied. Summaries include contextual information to help identify what's wrong and what to do next, with cached results so the summary doesn't regenerate on every open. This feature is currently in internal alpha testing.
Query with AI for Claim Filtering
Filter claims using natural language — type something like "Processing claims for over 45 days" and DocStation's AI will interpret the request and apply the appropriate filter parameters automatically. Currently in internal alpha testing.
Finalized Note Display and Export
Claim finalized notes are now visible in the claims table and can be included in claim exports. Finalized claims are hidden by default — add a filter for Finalized is False to surface them.
Default Filters Control
Default filters are now a filter option that can be toggled on or off at will. The default state hides Canceled status and Finalized claims. Turning off defaults removes all hidden filters so nothing is out of sight.
When searching by claim ID, query builder filters — including defaults like finalized — are now bypassed entirely so search results are never obscured.
Archived Patient Management
Archived patients can now be viewed and restored through the platform. While archived patients don't yet appear in standard patient search results, administrators can access and restore them as needed.
Extended Filing Indicator Code Options
The full list of filing indicator codes is now available for selection on claims, providing more precise classification of claim types at submission.
Medicare and Non-Medicare Specific CPT Codes
In the Add'l CPTs dataset, you can now map both Medicare-specific and Non-Medicare-specific CPT codes to an original CPT code using new variants in the CPT Variants dataset. Any mapped CPTs without a variant will be included regardless of Medicare status. When a claim is built, DocStation applies a loose check to determine Medicare status based on the payer and patient age — specifically, whether the payer is Medicare Part B, or the patient is over 65.
Claims Searchable by NDC
Claims can now be searched by NDC, making it easier to locate claims associated with a specific product.
Note Printing Options
New printing options are available for clinical notes and documentation, including the ability to modify font size.
Template Table View (Beta)
Orgs can now view their claim templates in a table format with filters for searching. Improvements include filtering by payer title and PCN, displaying NPIs for billing, service, and rendering locations, and showing ordering provider name, NPI, and template PCN. Currently in beta.
EDI Enrollment Improvements
A significant round of improvements shipped to the EDI enrollment experience across the quarter:
- New DS_ACTION_REQUIRED and PROVIDER_ACTION_REQUIRED statuses replace less descriptive options
- Color-coded status icons for higher visibility
- Payer search by PCN in addition to Payer ID and name
- Location search by NPI
- Location filter is now preserved on page refresh
- NPI column added to the enrollments table
- Additional structured columns (previously only captured in notes) are now stored and filterable
- Collected form values are now reflected in the enrollment overview and table columns
- Transactions are auto-approved when they're not required
- Consistent transaction names across all views
ERA Enrollment Auto-Approval
ERA enrollments are now automatically approved when DocStation receives an ERA matching the clearinghouse, location, and payer on the enrollment. This eliminates the need for manual approval in most cases.
Org-Specific Table Settings and Filters
Stored settings for tables and query builders are now org-specific. For customers, this should be seamless. For admins, your settings will be specific to whichever org or admin context you're working in. Table row selection and current page are no longer stored between refreshes. Additional items that are now org-specific include location onboarding dismissal, patient profile tray open/closed state, and note viewer settings.
